Ian Parrish, Developer

Over two decades, Ian Parrish has been responsible for tens of millions of dollars in real estate transactions that have improved individual properties and entire communities. He is a regular consultant to real estate developers, professional groups, universities, members of government, and individuals, about real estate investment and legislation and their effect on the environment. In light of his work, he has earned official citations from the U.S. Armed Forces, members of Congress, the Governor of Maryland, the Mayor of Baltimore, and others for his “outstanding leadership” and “commitment to community”. Mr. Parrish currently serves as President of Investors United, the Nation’s oldest brick-and-mortar school dedicated to teaching the proper methods of real estate investment, located in Baltimore City. He is an alumnus of Loyola University of Maryland, the Friends School of Baltimore, and Montessori School where he worked with Baltimore Mayor DuBurns to establish the proclamation of Montessori Day in honor of child development specialist, Maria Montessori. In his spare time, Ian is a beekeeper and serves as a Master Gardener for the University of Maryland Extension where he enjoys teaching a class on bonsai gardening.

Charles Parrish, Partner

Charles Parrish is a real estate entrepreneur, broker, and auctioneer in Maryland. For nearly 50 years, he has participated in real estate transactions of every kind; and his unique ability to identify creative solutions to real estate challenges has improved lives for people of all walks of life. His original real estate concepts are taught at universities and professional associations, and employed by investors nation-wide. In 1980, drawing upon his belief in success through partnership, Charles founded Investors United, America’s first school for real estate investment. He is also the Founder of Auction Brokers, a leading real estate auction firm in Maryland. Charles maintains a real estate portfolio in several states, is an active portrait artist, and son of the venerable Baltimore Burlesque performer, Bunny Holiday.

Lorraine Parrish, Project Manager

Lorraine Parrish has been a real estate developer and portfolio manager in Baltimore City since 1998. She was among the first women to earn a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Technological Institute of San Juan del Rio, Queretaro, MEXICO, where she worked for five (5) years as an Industrial Engineer and Project Manager in the area of Productivity and Quality Control for the corporation known as Metales Magneticos, S.A. de C.V. Lorraine has served as a consultant for the municipal government of the City of San Juan del Rio where she designed and implemented a year-long efficiency and productivity audit of government departments. As a first generation American and Baltimorean, Lorraine has made significant economic and social contributions through her residential and commercial developments. She enjoys opera, bonsai gardening, and raises cashmere goats on a farm in Northern Baltimore.

David H. Gleason, FAIA, Architect

Since he established the architectural firm bearing his name in 1976, David H. Gleason has designed hundreds of projects in the Baltimore-Washington metro area ranging from small-scale residential renovations to the redevelopment of entire city blocks. In the Charles North neighborhood, David was the architect of the Baltimore Eagle project at 2022 N. Charles St. (winner of a Baltimore Magazine “Best of Baltimore” Award in 2017). David was also the architect of the Copy Cat Building at the corner of 25th and St. Paul Streets (winner of the Baltimore Heritage Block-by-Block Award). David is a past President and Board Member of the Baltimore Architectural Foundation, Commissioner of the Baltimore City Commission on Historical and Architectural Preservation, and Past Chairman and Board Member of Baltimore Heritage.

Ashley Parrish, Brand Marketing Consultant

Ashley Parrish is an award winning digital strategist, consultant, and educator. She is the Executive Producer of TODAY Digital, the multi-platform arm of America’s favorite morning show, and NBC News Features, where she oversees a 60-person team generating gross revenue of over $1 Billion. A rare veteran of both the magazine and digital worlds, Mrs. Parrish has a proven track record working across various media formats to increase audience, revenue, and digital offerings to record numbers. Her work has been instrumental in expanding the digital footprint of iconic lifestyle brands across web, mobile, social, and email platforms.

As the Chief Digital Officer of DuJour Media, Mrs. Parrish optimized the brand’s digital offerings with a focus on increasing engagement and digital revenue. Prior to that, Mrs. Parrish was the Editor-in-Chief of DailyCandy where she led the editorial voice, vision, and strategy for social, web, email, mobile, and video platforms winning several awards along the way. Earlier in her career, Mrs. Parrish was the Content Director for the Women and Teen Networks at Hearst Digital Media where she directed and managed the digital operations of Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Redbook, and Seventeen magazines. During her tenure at Hearst Digital Media, the Women and Teen Networks enjoyed record traffic highs and received multiple awards and accolades for their website content and style.

In her spare time, Mrs. Parrish sits on the board of several companies and non-profits as a content and digital advisor. She is also an adjunct professor at her alma mater, New York University, where she enjoys teaching a variety of classes including Content Creation for the New Digital Attention Span, How to Write and Edit for the Web, and a Blogging Workshop.

Tony Garcia, Esq., General Counsel

Tony Garcia, Esq. is a senior partner in the Law Firm of Bates & Garcia, PA, and one of the most sought-after attorneys in the nation. He has scored victories in the national spotlight, in boardrooms, and in living rooms, using his unique brand of negotiation. He represents clients including government, law enforcement, professional athletes, real estate developers, small business people, and individuals alike. Tony is a former Team Captain of the Baltimore City State’s Attorney Office, a Hampton University and University of MD School of Law graduate with honors. In his private time, Tony enjoys buying real estate, collecting comic books, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.

Jasmin Torres, Esq., Land Use, Government Liaison

Jasmin Torres is a former Baltimore Assistant City Solicitor, with substantial experience in litigation of complex real estate issues. Ms. Torres is affiliated with the Craig Law Group, where she focuses her practice on the areas of business law and real estate. She is also the founder and CEO of Land Settlements, LLC, a real estate title and land use firm in Baltimore, Maryland. Ms. Torres has served the Baltimore City Chamber of Commerce, the Maryland Hispanic Bar Association, and provides significant legal services to the City’s expanding Hispanic community. A native of Bronx, New York, she graduated from State University New York (SUNY) with a B.A. in Sociology and University of the District of Columbia, David A. Clarke School of Law.

Bryant Blake P.E., Structural Engineer

Bryant Blake is a structural engineer specializing in design and draft house framing, heavy foundations including caissons and micropiles, sheeting and shoring, building propping, and retaining walls for industrial and commercial applications for over 30 years, working with clients as large as Amtrak and individual property owners alike. He is a University of Delaware graduate and Owner of Blake Structural and Creative Concepts.

Thomas Foulkes P.E., MEP Engineer

Thomas Foulkes is a LEED accredited MEP Engineer specializing in green building designs and historic building renovations. Thomas has worked on dozens of LEED projects including ones that have received every energy credit possible. With experience spanning nearly two decades, his work can be found at BWI airport, several LEED schools, the Maryland State House, and the Red & Purple Lines in DC, among others. He is licensed in Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, and Pennsylvania and is the owner of Thomas Foulkes LLC, an engineering firm in Central Baltimore.

Burdon English P.E., Civil Engineer

Burton English is a civil engineer who believes that an integrated, multi-disciplinary approach where the built environment and the natural environment complement and enhance each other is essential to successful projects. Around that concept, Burton partnered with a landscape architect and together formed Farrand & English, Inc. an architectural and engineering firm in Baltimore. For over 30 years Farrand & English have engaged in numerous projects including those at Montgomery Park, the Bryn Mawr School and the Roland Park Country School, just to name a few.

David Brown, MWBE & Community Liaison

David Brown has a wealth of experience working in government, with a career spanning three decades. In that time he has served as Director of Communications for Congressman Kweisi Mfume, Chief of Staff for President of the Baltimore City Council, Lawrence A. Bell, III and Chief of Staff for 12th District Councilman Carl Stokes. David has been responsible for researching and authoring legislation at every level of government that has impacted our culture both nationally and locally. He is particularly proud of the time he spent alongside Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall with the Washington Post while conducting research for Marshall’s biography on a grant from the Brookings Institute. David is currently the host of his own radio show on WEAA 88.9 FM, Real Questions, an open forum for Baltimoreans to share their views which has earned him numerous Distinguised Journalist Awards including those from APA, Associated Press and National Black Network among others.

Joe Edwardsen, Tenant/Operator

Joe Edwardsen is the founder and owner of Joe Squared, an iconic family-owned, Baltimore-bred, award-winning restaurant and bar in Baltimore’s Station North community. He has been serving up delicious eats since high school and is an accomplished foodie taking great pride in making Baltimore’s best artisan pizza using Maryland’s hottest anthracite coal fired food oven. Joe’s delightful creations have garnered the attention of the Food Network, being featured on Guy Fieri’s television program Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Recently, Joe’s establishment was featured in the Baltimore Sun and placed among “America’s Top 50 Best Pizzas” by the Food Network and Food Nation. A graduate of Goucher College and Baltimore native, Joe is proud original member of Station North’s revitalization.
